very tired, time for spool down...

This is Moses, the 3 legged cat. You really can't tell from here, but it's true. Right now, I wish I was doing what he's doing. Actually, I wish I could do that for about a week. Finals are next week, and I am finishing a 2k word paper this weekend. Time for spool down. The weather will be warmer soon, so I'll be able to get out in the yard as well. That really relaxes me also. The kittens can help keep the lizards away, and Scotty will help dig holes for plants. For now, I rest, until that time comes....

quote o' the day

I keep reminding myself of this when I start to get a little anxious and antsy for things to go differently, faster, or better, or more gooder, or something unrealistic and unreliable like that. I suppose that happens to all of us, and then I remember to surrender and let go. It all goes so much better when I just let go. Needless to say, I am off to a much needed yoga class tomorrow morning. You can get quote here.

Lady Track Shack update

I don't have a good photo of me crossing the finish line, but Nate did catch me in a pretty good shot here:
I managed to finish in 40 minutes. Not bad for not doing much actual running. It's such a nice run through a nice part of town, and it was fun having Scotty and Nate there to show their support.

Lady Track Shack 5k

So today I am participating in the Lady Track Shack 5k. I'm not an avid runner, but this is a nice race through a beautiful part of town, and I try to do it every year. I always get a plant at the end of the race. The one I have from 2 years ago is on my desk at work. I'm interested to compare it to the starter plants they give you to see how much it's grown. Nate & Scotty will be there at the start and end for moral support (running is not easy for some of us!) so that will be nice. I pray for a warmer day. Most of the races we have around here are in spring, as summer is just too hot. Although Track Shack does have a 4th of July race. If I get a good pic of me finishing, I'll post it.

have a great weekend!

halfway there...

Yep, halfway through accounting, and may God help us all. I think there are 2 people in class that actually understand accounting and how it works, but then again, I think they are majoring in accounting. I think it all has to do with the teacher and how it's presented. My accounting 1 teacher was very cool and demonstrative and used a lot of visuals to get everyone to understand how it all works. It was fairly simple, if accounting can be that way. This teacher is easy on the eyes, but that's all he has going for him. He explains this all in language that is foreign to us, he skips around the book with numbers that aren't even there, using everyday terminology that we are not familiar with, with a book that's 2k pages long! I'm joking, it's only 1500 pages long, but nevertheless, a very large volume of information that we need to absorb, and he isn't giving us any kind of break. Our last teacher realized that there was NO WAY she was going to be able to cover all the info she wanted to since we all had a dazed and confused look on our faces, so she cut it short. This guy won't give.

Anyway, I'm just venting and rambling and glad to be half over. Oh, did I tell you I have to write 2 papers in accounting class? yeah, 2 papers. In accounting. I can see writing a paper in any other class in the world, but accounting?

yeah....
