January is over already?

Yep, it feels like I've been snoozing like this here cat and the month has done gone passed me by already. Not like I haven't paid attention, since it was my sister's birthday month, but still, I'm feeling old. Like time is going by so fast and I need to catch it, but you can't catch it of course, you silly twit. So I guess I will just nap some more. Naps are good. Naps are fun. I feel so much better after a nap. Cats do too. Do you realize how much more energy cats have after napping? It's incredible! After I die, I want to come back as one of my pets. They have it so good here.
The animals have been enjoying the cooler weather, and I did some work in the yard yesterday. The recent freeze has burned back some of the vegetation, but it'll all come back soon enough, and then I'll have to trim that back then. No worries, I'm not complaining, I am glad to have such a thing to do. It could be a lot worse you know. Always be grateful for what you do have, because there is somebody out there who has it worse than you. Now, of course, there is always somebody out there who has it better than you, but let's not think about that, shall we? Go back to napping...

new keychains

Here's the other one I was talking about yesterday. The red one is in the background this time. I like the contrast of the up close, in focus picture with the out of focus one in the background. Kinda cool.
I took these pictures at night, in the house, at the kitchen table, and I must say, they turned out pretty good. I usually wait for daylight but I was impatient this time. I'm quite pleasantly surprised at the results! re-MARK-able!

new keychains

I had an idea for some other kinds of keychains, and VOILA! here they are!
I love these glass cane beads and sterling silver accent beads. I like the larger beads, but I was stumped as to what to do with them. (I know, creative persons block.) I like bright, shiny objects. wow, so pretty! And yes, I am easily distracted by these things.
In the background of this photo is another keychain I made at the same time as this red one. I'll show you that one tomorrow.

new books!

Here's another book I bought while out of town. I have NO IDEA why it posted to blogger sideways, because I didn't save it that way, and I'm tired of f*&%$#@ng around with it to get it to go straight. Sorry about that kids. I must be a blogger/server/interpretation thingy. Check out the website for this very cool book, and it's newest, bestest, more innovative ways to undo a t-shirt.

new books!

So there is not much else to do in the northeast during the winter, so while I was visiting I did some shopping. This is a pretty cool little book to add to my collection. (like I don't have enough.) I especially like this one since it is spiral bound. I wear out the bindings on some books, and the spiral bound stays together much easier. My collection is growing and will be put to good use here in the near distant future. Watch out world!

back from the cold...

Yes, we are back from the cold, gray, overcast Ohio weather. (Yeah, I remember that now.) It was a nice visit and the wedding went off without a hitch. And if there was a hitch, no one knew about it, except the bride of course. She had some beautiful flowers, above, and had a rosary wrapped around them. (This was a Catholic wedding, mass and all.) I like to take strange pictures that most people wouldn't even think of shooting. Like, why at this angle? because it's different and unusual and most people wouldn't do it, that's why. Plus, I think it looks pretty cool. The bridesmaids had nice flowers too, that were fake, so that was nice. They can always keep them, they will never die. A long night at the reception, and slightly late flight back, and we are in warmer temps, enjoying my day off.

a very cold trip...

Yes, I am very afraid. We are traveling to Ohio this weekend as my beloved is in a wedding. I know, what kind of fool has a wedding in Ohio in January? They've already had their fair share of snow up there, it's going to be damn cold and I am NOT wearing a dress. Nope, nice warm pants, shoes, socks, and comfy sweater for me. There better not be any kind of comments on what I'm wearing either. And really, folks, these aren't even people I know, so why would I dress up? In Ohio? In January? pray for a safe journey there and back.

gray/black eye glass chain

I've had some luck selling these at the Artistic Hand, so I made some more. I really like the way this one turned out. I bought some 6/0 beads at Michael's last weekend (on sale of course and with a coupon) in many different colors. Very pretty.
I'm using this for my header. I really like the way it turned out.
I used some black and white and clear cane beads for accent. Looks pretty cool if you ask me.

Artistree Co-op

The Artistree Co-op is having an evening of art and music tonight, from 7p-9p. Art opening by Lars Lindblad, and live music by Lauren Lester. If you bring a copy of this email you can get 10%off your purchases (excluding sale items), and they are offering a complimentary glass of wine, while it lasts, so get there early. It is damn cold and rainy today, so this is a good reason to get out of the house. Have a good time!

cold, colder, and coldest....

yes, it is actually cold here. freezing verily. it has been for about 3 days now and will be for the next week. We are to get a slight respite from the cold, maybe 2 days, then we're supposed to freeze again. I've had the heat on for a few days, and I've had to break out my sweaters. Don't get me wrong, I am enjoying this change in season. But as you all know, we Floridians are NOT used to this weather. Give us the hot, humid, rainy, mosquito-ridden hurricane days of 8 months of the year, and we're good. We can handle it with an ease and stride not seen by many except those from the Caribbean. But a temperature below 60F/15C? We panic and freak out and wonder what the hell happened. This panic is short lived, thankfully, as we go back to 60F +/15c + within a few short days. I am waiting for those days...

Max helping...

So here I am, minding my own business, trying to make some new stuff, and Max plops himself down right in the middle of what I'm doing. Now, needless to say, this is not the first time he has done this; I just find it so hilarious! Rogue and Wolfie have been known to walk slowly and gently onto the desk, and very gently set themselves down on whatever it is I am doing, whether it's schoolwork or jewelry work. Max, on the other hand, quickly walks right up and just sets down on whatever it is. No asking, no gently or quietly, just PLOPS. I've told him, and the other kittens, that they are NOT HELPING by doing this. They don't get it. Silly kittens.
